Discover California Redwoods & Wine

Marvel at the spectacular living landscapes of a coastal redwood forest, then sip & sample wines at acclaimed vineyards in Napa Valley and Sonoma.

About Your Trip

Raise your glass and toast to flavorful adventures in and around San Francisco on a full-day tour that’s not to be missed — don’t forget your camera! First, in the morning, you’ll venture to Muir Woods National Monument (or another astounding coastal forest), where you’ll be amazed at the massive, old-growth redwood trees — some are a thousand years old! From there, it’s off to Sonoma and Napa Valley in the afternoon. Along the way, you’ll sample some of the world’s best vintages at renowned wineries while you take in the rolling hills and picturesque vineyards of this celebrated wine-producing region. This amazing tour also includes lunch and some time for shopping and wine tasting either at Sonoma Plaza or Healdsburg Plaza — historic town squares filled with restaurants, shops, galleries and tasting rooms.

During your leisure time, you can visit San Francisco’s top attractions, such as Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard Street. Be sure to stop at Ghirardelli Square — once a chocolate factory established by Domenico “Domingo” Ghirardelli and now a popular shopping and dining destination.

What we love:
• The National Park Service estimates the average age for mature coastal redwoods is between 800 and 1,500 years old.
• Sonoma County wineries regularly place in international competitions for their wonderfully robust wines — popular varietals from the region include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
• When you’re done tempting your taste buds in the vineyards, you’ll have plenty of time to play at your popular, award-winning boutique hotel! Among its other accolades, The Marker San Francisco has just been ranked No. 4 hotel in the city in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards!
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!

Destination

San Francisco has been inhabited since 3,000 B.C. and was initially colonized by Spanish settlers in 1776. Eventually, the U.S. claimed the entire state of California in 1846.

Today, San Francisco stands as a beacon of progressive thinking, trendy culture and delicious seafood. Infamous and formidable Alcatraz Island is just a boat ride away, and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge stands tall on the waters along the coast. The city is also well known for its booming technology and tourism industries. Visitors and locals alike flock to Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown, and throughout the city, sourdough bread and Mexican-inspired cuisine number among the most popular foods.
